Pledge conducted an impact study to quantify the carbon emissions of crypto donation transactions from the 8 most used cryptocurrencies. Using the average, we were able to determine the amount of carbon dioxide each crypto transaction uses and selected two projects through the UN Climate Neutral Now Initiative to offset the carbon footprint based on that amount. There is no additional cost to donors or nonprofits for this impact, it is covered by 100% by Pledge.
